Product strategy General Generic components Basic modules Expert modules Tools Customer specific applications Pricing	These are the 9 basic modules of Ecomaster^®: General Materials Water Waste Energy Air Soil Noise MSDS Module General This module allows a complete overview of your site(s): managers, locations, processes, installations, warehouses, containers,… Ecomaster® will retrieve these data throughout the whole program, in order to fill out documents automatically for example. The module also contains an Address book, in which you can enter all data of your “partners in environmental management” (suppliers, collectors, laboratories, waste treatment companies,...). Finally you can identify your permits as well as those of third parties (collectors, waste treatment companies,…). The automatic agenda will keep you informed on their expiry dates. Expert Module: Permit expert Back to top Module Materials This module is used for managing all relevant material flows. Most of the times, it is used in combination with other modules; its functionality also becomes available by means of the module for the relevant environmental aspect (Waste; Dangerous substances; Water; Air, etc). This module enables an organisation to manage the incoming, internal and outgoing material flows. The main objective is to produce a balance of materials. Raw materials, semi-finished products and finished products are identified and their flows registered. At a mouse click you can consult stock- and flow overviews. In this way, you can monitor the used amounts of your main raw materials, for example. Calculating environmental indicators (tons of waste/used raw materials; m3 effluent/tons of final product) becomes easy. Some characteristics: Process balance for every environmentally relevant process (all input and output quantitative and qualitative, including energy and VOC registration) Material balance for each material and process and on the combined processes (quantitative and qualitative) Efficiency comparison in time and as a benchmark Monitoring material use subject to limitations based on EPI scores Offers input for Life Cycle Assesment Offers an overview on Waste and Dangerous products (properties; limit values etc) as a basis for integrated risk assesment of storage VOC bookkeeping based on material flows, the analytical results of these materials and the emissions (in Air, Water, Soil). Using built-in analysis-tools (including data on taxes etc) Ecomaster allows optimization of company processes using VOC related materials and thus less environmental impact and/or costs. Follow-up of every relevant balance element, quantitative and qualitative: every emission, quantitative and qualitative flow, resulting in a correct process knowledge, optimal production, minimal consumption and optimal result of the installations. Ecomaster^® allows advanced techniques such as Life Cycle Analysis, eco- and process balances and Integral Chain Management to be put into practice. Back to top Module Water Using this module, you can identify, register and analyse parameters and flows for each collection – and disposal point. Ecomaster provides the waterbalance. It is also possible to identify intermediate points and to register parameters for each intermediate point. So Ecomaster supports you with the registration and management of the internal and external flow. Ecomaster helps you with the registration of incoming and outgoing flows and also the registration of the internal consummation and internal production. Registration frequencies can be defined for each identified point. The automatic agenda informs you when registrations need to be done. Some characteristics: Automatic registration through interfacing with sensors etc Management of environmental impact through monitoring Optimization process/avoiding inefficiency through monitoring quantities and calculation cost of taxes in different compositions of the waste water Monitoring efficiency water purification and follow-up residue with the Waste module Planning tasks and monitoring execution Cost allocation pollution and use Registration (in Water module) of incoming and outgoing flows. Also the possibility to register the internal flow by defining intermediate points. When water is used as a raw material the module "Materials" allows you to manage the internal flows, with (Water module) the water balance as proof of conclusiveness registration Automatic preparation of official documents e.g. consumption and drainage reports Monitoring quality and quantities including alarms (via Email, SMS) by exceptions Monitoring of permit limits. At a mouse click, you produce documents, tables and internal reports for the Authorities (the Emission Annual Report for Flanders amongst others). Depending on the region, Ecomaster automatically calculates the water disposal tax. Back to top Module Waste This module manages both the internal and external waste flows. You can adopt queries at any moment; the stored, produced or collected waste quantities for example. The agenda informs you when certain quantities are reached, allowing you to contact your collector. In this way, invoices and contracts with third parties can be checked. Ecomaster^® automatically produces the required official documents, such as registers of dangerous waste substances, reporting forms and other region-specific documents. Detailed financial analyses can be made easily and form the basis for each cost-saving program. Starting point is the identification of fuels, thermal energy and electrical energy. Then you identify suppliers, the containers and the energy producing or consuming installations; finally, you register the energy flows within your company. Some characteristics: Registration through interface with equipment Assessment contribution to total use of energy for each process/installation and therefore the most effective possibility for reduction. These reports can be drawn up for the whole site or for specific installations. Back to top Module Air This module identifies and registers air emission coming from combustion installations, processes and warehouses. Parameters can be registered in different ways: based on real calculations or on estimates. Ecomaster^® can calculate e.g. the amount of emitted SO₂ based on real consumed fuel. Some characteristics: Automatic registration through interface with measuring equipment Management of environmental impact through monitoring Calculation air emissions based on material balance. Is often more accurate than measuring Assessment contribution to total emission for each process/installation and therefore the most effective possibility for reduction. Expert Module: Air Expert Back to top Module Soil Using this module, you set up a soil profile for your company. You register the results of soil examinations (soil samples, groundwater samples). By analysing these data, possible pollution can be traced. Ecomaster^® integrates these data in automatically produced reports and documents. Some characteristics: Follow-up of decontamination project soil pollution Monitoring of soil and groundwater samples especially in high risk business activities Management and control of tank park including corrosion inspection Follow-up execution environmental prevention programme for soil pollution sensitive business activities The module Soil also identifies the characteristics of the tanks, both above and below the ground, and registers tank inspections. Back to top Module Noise This module allows you to create a noise profile of your site. Two parameters are important here: the original and the specific (source related) noise level. Measuring these parameters will allow you to evaluate the noise position of your company with regard to its surroundings and to take well-documented decisions in case of noise complaints. Some characteristics: Exact registration of noise measurements Indication of noise sources Monitoring noise reducing measures Back to top MSDS/dangerous substances MSDS originally stands for Material Safety Data Sheets. As this also applies to non-material substances, the expression SDS (Safety Data Sheets) is used as well. This module helps you to manage the safety information of substances, preparations and products. This module contains the hazard symbols, R-sentences, S-sentences, Note’s, concentration limits and all other relevant information from the most recent version of the Annex 1 “Dangerous substances” to the Dangerous Preparations Directive: a lot of data concerning over 3000 substances. Keeping this information up to date is quite an effort. Periodically, a completely new Annex 1 is published without giving any information about the actual changes. Every company is obliged to work with the latest version of the Annex 1. Ecomaster handles this huge update-problem for you. A wizard supports you regarding substances and preparations with the registration of at least all the data obliged by the safety regulations for dangerous substances. Ecomaster supports you by providing all the information from the Annex 1, by providing a library of standard phrases that you can expand, by providing tables with codes, classifications and symbols. Furthermore, once you have registered the composition of the preparation through selection from a list of substances, Ecomaster supports you with the registration of the danger characteristics, hazard symbols and R- and S-sentences. The program calculates the necessary R - and S phrases and danger symbols regarding the Health and Environmental Hazards in compliance with the European Directive on dangerous substances and supports you to select the R-sentences regarding the Physico Chemical Hazards. In doing so, you build your own database of dangerous goods. You can divide this database in several product-categories the way you like it. Ecomaster also enables you to distinguish between draft preparations and final preparations and to register specific instructions for each preparation, like the advice of the in house physician. Ecomaster enables you also to check the incoming MSDS on the correct calculation of hazard symbols and R- and S-sentences. Studies show that still 50% to 70% of the incoming MSDS are not entirely correct. Nowadays the employer is accountable towards its personnel (Health Exposure legislation) and is therefore obliged to check all incoming MSDS. Using this database, you can produce MSDS, Safety Instruction Cards and Transport Emergency Cards (Tremcards), with your logo. Ecomaster also enables you to print hazard labels for your products, your intermediate products, but also the raw materials and other incoming goods. In case you receive dangerous goods in bulk or large quantities and you distribute these in smaller quantities within your organisation, Ecomaster enables you to print the correct hazard-labels warranting a better compliance with the safety regulations towards your employees. You can produce these documents and labels in many languages. You can use the language of your version of Ecomaster and get the output in any language you choose. If a specific output language is not available in Ecomaster, then Ecomaster can easily add this language to the standard library of output languages. Furthermore, Ecomaster enables you to create your own standard documents. With Ecomaster you can optimize your internal information distribution on dangerous goods. Using customised templates you can compose specific information for different target groups (laboratory, warehouse, transport division,…). In addition, you can add or change information, e.g. the information coming from the in-house physician or safety expert, in order to reach each target group as adequately as possible. Of course, the information can be consulted online in every working area connected to the system. With Ecomaster^® MSDS, you can distinguish between different language groups among your users. Data originally put in a certain language, can be made available in another language, thanks to a unique system of codification and the translation manager. Ecomaster also enables you to scan incoming MSDS’n and other documents, allowing you to distribute this information easier within your organisation. You can mark whether the incoming MSDS has been verified by you. Ecomaster can recalculate the hazard-symbols and the R- and S-sentences and enables you to create step by step a database with verified information. You can use our MSDS module separately, or in combination with the modules Waste or Material. In combination with the modules Waste or Material, you can monitor the presence of dangerous goods in your site, from the moment they arrive until they leave your site. Through this combination, you can follow up and manage the presence of dangerous products in a fast and precise way: registering type and quantity at entrance, production, treatment, delivery and storage (including the storage register of dangerous goods). In short, Ecomaster is an indispensable support system for your risk management. Ecomaster indicates which preparations and products are affected by the modifications and in which cases a new MSDS needs to be sent. Ecomaster will automatically recalculate the hazard-symbols and the R- and S-sentences, without the need for manual input. Ecomaster is working on extending the content of the database. The database contains at present 3167 substances with all the information from Annex 1 of the Directive 67/458/EC. This extension could for instance be the information about all –or a part of- the substances classified by the EC (with EC number) and not yet present in the actual Annex I. However the content extension might also be a selection for a specific industrial branch, for example the preparations generally used in hospitals, validated by a third party, like BIG.
