The implementation of Ecomaster® in large, multi-site multinationals is performed according to a strict procedure. This may ask for a pre-phase, if Ecomaster® is used to drastically improve environmental management of the company and all kinds of questions regarding the structure of the system and the strategical changes are involved (also see services 3). As far as smaller and/or mono-site companies are concerned, some of the steps and tasks can be omitted. In this case, the implementation (including setting up system structure and education) will only take a few days.

Technical and environment related situation

Industrial processes and their emission, materials- (including water) and energy balances, warehousing and stocks
  • Which of the abovementioned aspects needs to be identified and registered more closely?
  • Which reporting form suits this monitoring best? 

Regulation

  • Which monitored methods and registrations are required by law?

Data-and information flows and their management

Which data are: 

  • registered 
  • classified 
  • consulted 
  • reported on 
    + how? by whom? when? using which technical means?

Who will become the future Ecomaster® users and what is their role in the organisation?

The organisational level

Evaluation of existing versus desired international co-operation/standardisation/ communication/reporting

  • Horizontally: between sites
  • Vertically: communication between the hierarchical levels of the organisation and from and to individual branches spread around other regions/countries

2. Implementation proposal

Regulation

  • Ecomaster®’s contribution to reaching or improving the consistency with regulations

Data- and information management

  • Proposal for concrete data identification 
  • Initial registration procedures- and techniques 
  • Technical aspects like: ICT, network, automating registrations, interface requirements
  • Evaluation of contents and costs of the required customer specific reports

Organisational aspects

  • Organisational matrix: roles, responsibilities, access privileges 
  • Procedures and tasks and their execution frequency 
  • Inclusion, expansion, improvement or introduction of quality systems (such as ISO 14001) 

Cost/benefit analysis and project planning

  • Required human, financial and material resources for the implementation of the project 
  • Timings, deliverables and deadlines
If the implementation proposal has been approved, the final rollout procedure stating the final agreements can be drawn up. This procedure will act as a point of reference for the technical and financial aspects and the project planning.

3. Implementation and education

One of our employees will install the software at your site(s). Through giving practical advice and useful tips, he or she will educate future users in how to handle the program and helps them in setting up the system, including the initial identifications and registrations.
